The political mathematics around 2027 is becoming increasingly complicated, and Joe Igbokwe wants Nyesom Wike to explain his arithmetic directly to the people who may be most affected by it.
All Progressives Congress chieftain Joe Igbokwe has urged FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to meet with APC governors and explain the purpose of his proposed Rainbow Coalition.
Igbokwe made the call amid continuing political debate over the coalition and its implications for the 2027 elections.
He argued that Wike should engage the governors directly rather than allow uncertainty to grow around the political arrangement. Igbokwe said Wike should “meet APC governors, explain his Rainbow Coalition.”
Wike has previously maintained that his political coalition is focused on supporting President Bola Tinubu at the presidential level while political parties can continue to field candidates for other positions.
That position has generated questions within APC circles because governors remain central to the party’s electoral machinery.
ValidViewNetwork had earlier reported on the growing realignment of political actors ahead of the 2027 elections, including efforts by different blocs to negotiate alliances across party lines.
ValidViewNetwork reports that the debate over the Rainbow Coalition is ultimately a question of political structure, allegiance and electoral strategy.
Wike’s position and the concerns of APC stakeholders will have to be judged against what the coalition actually produces politically rather than assumptions about its intentions.
The developing dispute also shows why political disagreements should remain within the boundaries of party structures, constitutional rights and democratic competition.

Whatever alliance emerges, its legitimacy will depend on lawful political participation rather than coercion, intimidation or self-help. ValidViewNetwork reports.
