Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has expressed deep frustration over the prolonged absence of emergency responders following a severe road traffic crash at Shapade along the Ibadan–Shagamu section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
In a video shared on his social media handle on Friday, the actor lamented that no ambulances or rescue personnel arrived at the scene for roughly 20 minutes after he and other motorists encountered the wreckage. Pointing to victims lying helplessly by the roadside, Afod criticized the apparent delay in emergency services and noted that passing drivers were hesitant to stop and assist.
”We urgently need the rescue team to come to the aid of accident victims at Shapade,” Afod wrote, calling on the Ogun State Government, the Federal Road Safety Corps, and relevant authorities to intervene swiftly.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency confirmed that a single-vehicle accident occurred along the corridor. Through its Saapade Unit Command, the agency stated that operatives were promptly deployed to monitor the situation and manage traffic flow, assuring that further details would be released as investigations continue.
