GUNMEN KILL KATSINA ISLAMIC CLERIC MASUSSUKA OUTSIDE HIS HOME

The Katsina State Police Command has launched a full-scale manhunt for two armed men who shot dead prominent Islamic scholar Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka and his associate, Adamu Abubakar, in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area of the state.

THE ATTACK

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the two armed men were riding a motorcycle when they opened fire on the victims, inflicting fatal gunshot wounds .

Upon receiving the distress report, the Divisional Police Officer in Dutsin-Ma promptly mobilised a team of operatives to the scene.

The victims were immediately evacuated to the nearest hospital, where they were confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

THE POLICE RESPONSE

The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Ali Umar Fage, ordered the immediate deployment of tactical and operational teams to intensify the search for the fleeing suspects.

An investigation has commenced, and efforts are being intensified to track down and arrest the perpetrators .

CP Fage expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families, friends and followers of the deceased, as well as the people of Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area, assuring residents that the Command remains committed to ensuring justice is served .

The Command appealed for public cooperation, urging anyone with useful information that could aid the investigation to come forward.
