A Kaduna woman identified as Aisha, who was reportedly beaten and injured while campaigning for Governor Uba Sani, has expressed regret over her support for the governor and the All Progressives Congress, saying no party official has visited her or even called to check on her condition since the incident.
The Kaduna woman regrets campaigning Uba Sani revelation was made in a video seen by SaharaReporters, where she was approached by a man who asked whether she regretted her actions following the alleged attack, ValidViewNetwork reports .
THE REGRET
Aisha did not hesitate when asked if she regretted campaigning for the governor.
“Honestly, if I had known, I would not have come out. I did not beg for this kind of treatment, but I was met with beating and humiliation because I was seeking support for Uba Sani,” she said.
She added: “Had I known, I would not have come out to say anything”.
THE CAMPAIGN EFFORT
ValidViewNetwork had earlier reported that Aisha was assaulted after she publicly criticised Kaduna residents for failing to show support for Governor Sani during President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to the state .
In a video that circulated before the attack, she expressed disappointment that residents had not organised public displays of support for the governor—no songs, no posters, no large gatherings .
She questioned why Kaduna residents did not demonstrate the same level of enthusiasm for their governor that citizens from other states typically show when their leaders visit .
THE ABANDONMENT
In the new video, a women’s leader who was also involved in the campaign expressed frustration over the absence of support from the governor and his administration.
“Honestly, there is one thing that has always upset me. I am convinced that, given this video and what is happening, it is impossible to say that the governor has not seen it,” she said .
“It is impossible to say that nobody in Government House, nobody close to the governor, or the governor himself, knows about it or has seen it” .
She expressed disappointment that despite the publicity surrounding the incident, they had yet to receive any indication that the governor or his administration stood with them.
“Yet, we are told that there is nothing, that no information or anything has reached us to show that they stand with us. We are the only ones who are doing everything,” she added .
THE CONTEXT
The incident occurred shortly after President Tinubu’s campaign visit to Kaduna, where he formally kicked off his 2027 re-election bid.
Aisha’s assault sparked widespread condemnation and raised questions about the safety of citizens expressing political opinions in Nigeria.

Aisha’s regret is a poignant reminder of the personal cost of political engagement in Nigeria. She came out to support her governor. She was beaten for it.
And now, she says, no one from the party or the government has reached out to her.
The APC’s silence is deafening. The governor’s silence is telling.
And Aisha’s regret is a warning to every citizen who might consider participating in the political process.
If a supporter can be abandoned after being beaten for campaigning, why would anyone else risk the same? ValidViewNetwork reports.
