Zelensky Dismisses Ukraine’s US Ambassador As Kyiv Seeks More American Support

Dismissal Followed Government Reshuffle

The ambassador’s departure had been widely expected.It followed a government reshuffle carried out last month. Stefanishyna previously served as Ukraine’s deputy prime minister and justice minister.

She was nominated ambassador to Washington in July 2025. She later said she requested to leave the position because of personal circumstances, ValidViewNetwork reports.

Former Envoy Reflects On Her Service

In a Facebook statement, Stefanishyna described the role as:

“The greatest honour.”

She said she remained committed to strengthening relations between Ukraine and the United States.She also pointed to her efforts to help sustain American military support for Ukraine.

Reports Mention Anti Corruption Investigation

Ukrainian media have reported that Stefanishyna is under investigation by the country’s anti corruption agency. She has not been formally accused of any wrongdoing. President Zelensky has not linked her dismissal to the reported investigation.
