ABEOKUTA — The Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, has extended warm congratulations to federal lawmakers and aspirants who emerged victorious at the just-concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary elections in the senatorial district.
The primary elections, which saw a peaceful and organized turnout of party faithful across the state over the weekend, officially produced the ruling party’s flagbearers for the three federal constituencies under the Ogun Central zone ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Victorious Trio
In a signed statement issued from his media office, Senator Salisu celebrated the emergence of the trio, describing their victories as a well-deserved reflection of their competence and institutional capacity.
The successful candidates include:
- Hon. Olumide Osoba: Flagbearer for the Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency.
- Hon. Afolabi Afuape: Flagbearer for the Abeokuta South Federal Constituency.
- Hon. Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo: Flagbearer for the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency.
According to Senator Salisu, the emergence of the candidates is a direct testament to the solid trust reposed in them by party leaders, delegates, and grassroots stakeholders within their respective constituencies.
”Their selection reflects the enduring trust in their competence, commitment, and capacity to continue delivering quality representation and impactful leadership to our people,” Salisu noted.

Senator Salisu, who serves as the apex consensus leader for the APC in Ogun Central, lauded the rich political heritage of the zone, affectionately labeling the district as the “Cradle of Civilization.” He emphasized that the caliber of the emerged candidates would further sustain purposeful governance and accelerate the development trajectory of Ogun State under the current progressive administration.
Looking ahead to the general election campaigns, the federal lawmaker expressed readiness to build a unified front alongside the three candidates to ensure a comprehensive sweep for the ruling party.
