The governorship candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Lagos State, Funso Doherty, has outlined an ambitious agenda to resolve the state’s housing deficit through private capital collaboration and strategic land allocation.
Speaking during a stakeholder tour in the Alimosho Local Government Area, Doherty criticized the scale of previous interventions, stating that his administration would target housing delivery in the tens of thousands rather than incremental batches. He emphasized that government backing, institutional guarantees, and secondary mortgage frameworks are essential to attracting private investment into the housing sector.
The gubernatorial hopeful also reiterated his commitment to a people-centered governance model focused on healthcare, education, transport infrastructure, and general public welfare.
