Amala Tragedy: Kogi Govt Orders Probe Into Four Deaths

​Tragedy struck the Ihima community in the Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State after four members of a single family died mysteriously following the consumption of a local cassava flour delicacy, Amala. The grim situation deepened when the household’s dog also reportedly died after eating leftovers of the same meal.

​In response to the developing crisis, the Kogi State Government has ordered an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the fatalities. According to a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo expressed deep shock and sorrow over the incident.
