LAGOS — The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has clamped down on multiple commercial outlets within the Trade Fair Complex in Lagos, sealing off several shops over the open distribution and sale of suspected unregistered cosmetic products.
The two-day intelligence-driven enforcement sweep, executed on August 26 and 27 by the Cosmetics Division of NAFDAC’s Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, targeted identified business premises trading in unverified beauty items.
Among the prominent locations sealed and plastered with official “NAFDAC HOLD” restriction notices are Vincentmo World, situated opposite Bmeck Plaza in Private Plaza; Amazon City of Fragrance at Shops 37 and 38 in Beauty Promise Land Plaza; and Aza-King Store Perfumes, located opposite Fidelity Bank.
Other affected commercial spots include PP2 & Fragrance Int’l Ltd. (Design Perfumes & Cosmetics), Fragrance Doctor Shop at No. D12 Abia Plaza, and God & Obaino Fragrance Store, situated opposite Wave Plaza, alongside several other surrounding trade outlets.

Regulatory operatives evacuated comprehensive product samples from the targeted shops for laboratory evaluation and quality verification. Furthermore, official invitation letters have been dispatched to the respective store owners and managing operators, requiring them to report for immediate interrogation and administrative proceedings.

The latest clampdown underscores the agency’s intensified nationwide campaign to sanitise the beauty and personal care supply chain, curbing the proliferation of uncertified foreign and domestic products that bypass mandatory safety evaluations and pose severe dermatological hazards to unsuspecting consumers.
