The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has directed aggrieved House of Representatives aspirants to submit their complaints to the party’s Primary Appeal Committee following controversies that trailed the conduct of the party’s primary elections.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Ondo State APC Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, the party said the appeal committee had commenced sitting at the party secretariat along Olu Obasanjo Road, Akure, to entertain petitions from dissatisfied aspirants.
According to the statement, aspirants who are displeased with the outcome or process of the primaries were encouraged to take advantage of the committee’s presence to formally present their grievances in the interest of fairness and justice.
The party assured members that the committee was constituted to ensure transparency and provide equal opportunity for all complaints to be fairly addressed.
“The committee will remain at the secretariat till all aspirants with cases have been attended to, in the interest of fairness and unity of the fold,” the statement read.
The development comes amid protests, allegations of irregularities and claims of result manipulation raised by some aspirants and their supporters in parts of the state following Saturday’s direct primary elections for House of Representatives tickets.
