The exercise, held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Provost (Academics), marks a critical phase in the institution’s 2026 fiscal strategy to modernize learning facilities. The projects up for bid include the construction of a new Student Activity Centre, expansion of student hostels, and extensive architectural and mechanical remodeling of the old Registry building and the Home Management Building.
Commitment to “Moulding for Excellence”
Representing the Provost, Dr. Rafiu Adekola Soyele, the Director of Academic Planning, Mr. Abubakar Maikudi, emphasized that the college’s reputation for transparency remains its guiding principle.
”At FCE Abeokuta, excellence is non-negotiable. We follow laid-down guidelines without compromise or partiality to ensure that only the most competent hands handle our development,” Maikudi stated.
The Director of Procurement, Engr. J.O. Oguntola, provided a technical breakdown of the lots, noting that the bids covered both physical works and essential consultancy services for quantity surveying and engineering designs.
Stakeholders Applaud Process
The exercise was witnessed by representatives from TETFund, procurement consultants, and various bidding firms. A TETFund representative present at the venue lauded the institution for its “fair and timely” execution, noting that the college has strictly adhered to the federal procurement timeline.
Observers and consultants alike described the atmosphere as coordinated and professional, reinforcing the college’s standing as a leading recipient of the 2026 TETFund allocation—which saw approximately ₦2.06 billion earmarked for Colleges of Education nationwide.
