President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Alhaja Falilat Yusuf, popularly known as Ero-Arike, to the All Progressives Congress 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
The Osun-based businesswoman and grassroots mobiliser is known for her active role in party politics, despite the backlash her political activities faced during the Osun governorship election.
A Grassroots Appointment
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Osun businesswoman and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Alhaja Falilat Yusuf, popularly known as Ero-Arike, to the party’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council .
The appointment, announced on September 7, 2026, brings a prominent grassroots mobiliser into the campaign structure as the ruling party prepares for the 2027 general elections .
Tinubu had earlier announced the APC’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council on August 22, with himself as Chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as Vice Chairman .
A Passionate Campaigner
Ero-Arike is a prominent APC grassroots mobiliser in Osun State, where she has remained active in party politics and campaigns.
She had campaigned vigorously for the APC governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election.
During the campaign, she distributed rice bearing APC branding and encouraged residents to vote for Oyebamiji.
Her involvement sparked significant attention, with workers and marketers of her herbal balm brand publicly appealing to Nigerians not to boycott the product because of her political activities.
A Businesswoman of Substance
Ero-Arike is the owner of the popular Ero-Arike herbal balm brand . She has also revealed that she has built 16 houses for students in Iragbiji, Osun State, demonstrating her commitment to community development.
After Adeleke’s victory was announced, she released a video describing politics as unpredictable and urged APC supporters not to be discouraged by the loss.
A Lesson for Nigeria
The appointment of a grassroots mobiliser like Ero-Arike to the APC campaign council is a recognition that elections are won at the grassroots.
Her ability to connect with ordinary people, distribute resources and mobilise support is precisely the kind of energy that political parties need to succeed.
For Nigeria, the lesson is clear: politics is about people, not just policies. The same politicians who speak of grand visions must also be willing to engage at the grassroots level, to listen to the concerns of ordinary citizens and to build genuine connections with the communities they seek to serve.
Ero-Arike’s appointment is a reminder that every vote counts—and that the work of winning elections begins long before the ballot boxes are opened.
