A 30-year-old British tourist is facing legal action in Spain following a disturbing incident aboard a Ryanair flight from London Stansted to Majorca. The passenger was apprehended after allegedly attempting to kiss a male flight attendant on the neck while in a state of heavy intoxication.
The incident, which took place on June 29, prompted the flight’s pilot to alert air traffic controllers at Palma Airport as the aircraft prepared for landing. The pilot requested police intervention due to the passenger’s alleged disruptive and sexually inappropriate behavior toward the cabin crew member.
While Spanish police were initially ready to intervene upon the flight’s arrival, the air steward initially declined to file a formal complaint. Consequently, the passenger was allowed to pass through passport control and continue his trip. However, the situation shifted when the flight attendant changed his mind and decided to pursue the matter legally. The authorities were then notified, and a search for the individual commenced.
The holidaymaker was successfully intercepted the following day while attempting to board a return flight to the United Kingdom. He was subsequently taken into custody and brought before a local judge. Following his court appearance, he was released on bail as the investigation into the alleged sexual assault remains ongoing.
A spokesperson for the authorities confirmed that the investigation is active and that the incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences regarding disruptive and illegal behavior on international flights.
