LONDON — Days after dancing before a roaring crowd at Crystal Palace Bowl, Nigerian entertainer Poco Lee is reportedly sleeping in a UK prison cell, awaiting a plea hearing that could decide the next chapter of his career.
Poco Lee, born Iweh Pascal Odinaka, is the central figure in one of the year’s fastest-moving celebrity scandals, a hype man and dancer whose rise from Zlatan Ibile’s 2018 “Zanku (Legwork)” video made him one of Afrobeats’ most bankable faces, now facing counts reported to include attempted rape and assault by penetration under UK law, allegations he has not personally addressed in public.

Fans flooded his comment section asking where he’d gone. By August 19, unverified reports of an arrest were circulating widely enough that Arise News ran with them, though and this matters, no UK police force or court had, at that point, confirmed anything on record.
From Rumour To Remand
The confirmation, when it arrived, did not come from Scotland Yard. It came from a community figure, a source identified online as Oluomo of Derby, who told followers plainly:
“I can confirm that the reports are true. Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison. His next court date is scheduled for the second week of September, when he is expected to have a plea hearing.”
That single statement, circulated August 24, is the closest thing to an official word the public has received so far.
The story then acquired a second front.
A Texas-based Nigerian rapper known as Ms Jorji alleged separately, in videos shared online, that Poco Lee had attempted to sexually assault her and her girlfriend while she sought his advice on breaking into the music industry, a claim ValidViewNetwork stresses has not been independently established by any court, and which his management has publicly pushed back on, denying associated drink-spiking allegations and asking the public to “desist from introducing details that are not part of the actual case”.
