Aiyedatiwa Rallies Ondo APC for Tinubu, Warns Against Factions

​Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains an indivisible family in the state, warning party stakeholders against divisive moves and the creation of parallel structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

​Speaking at the APC Elders Council meeting held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the party operates under a single umbrella and must approach the coming polls with absolute unity.

​”APC is one. There are no two APCs in Ondo State. APC is one, All Progressives Congress,” Aiyedatiwa stated, addressing party leaders across the three senatorial districts. He noted that individuals attempting to form separate factions of the Elders Council are still party members and should be integrated back into the mainstream fold.

​As part of the strategy to solidify the party’s grassroots dominance, the governor directed the immediate activation of the Elders Council across all 18 local government areas. He explained that decentralizing these meetings would make participation easier for senior stakeholders while cementing synergy across the state’s 203 wards and 3,933 polling units.

​Shifting focus to national politics, Aiyedatiwa rallied massive support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, praising his bold economic reforms for shoring up federation revenues and increasing resources available to sub-national governments for developmental projects. He stressed that grassroots mobilisation must not be restricted to the presidency alone but must cascade down to every APC candidate vying for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly seats.

​Highlighting his administration’s scorecard, the governor pointed to major milestones across sectors, including the recruitment of over 6,000 personnel into the civil service—spanning education, healthcare, agriculture, and the Amotekun security corps—alongside aggressive infrastructure development and ongoing health facility upgrades across the senatorial districts.

​In his remarks, APC State Chairman Hon. Kolawole Babatunde lauded the administrative strides of the governor, noting that the party will leverage these achievements as formidable campaign issues.

​The meeting drew heavyweights from across the state, including Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami, former deputy governors Alhaji Ali Olanusi, Otunba Omolade Oluwateru, and Alhaji Abdulazeez Oluboyo, alongside the Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council, Chief Pius Akinyelure, and Elders Council Chairman Senator Nimbe Farukanmi, who all echoed the call for internal harmony and total electoral victory in 2027.
