Reds Secure Record-Breaking £123M Star Barcola

​Liverpool have pulled off the blockbuster coup of the summer transfer window, completing the signing of France winger Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to £123 million.

​The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Anfield after the Reds agreed to an initial guaranteed fee of £106 million, supplemented by £17 million in performance-related add-ons. The massive investment makes Barcola one of the most expensive acquisitions in club history, arriving just ahead of the transfer deadline to headline manager Andoni Iraola’s squad rebuilding project.

​Barcola, who will wear the number 29 shirt on Merseyside, departs the French capital after a glittering three-season spell following his £38.5 million arrival from Lyon in 2023. During his time with PSG, he amassed 39 goals and 37 assists across 152 appearances, collecting a formidable haul of silverware that includes back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles, three Ligue 1 crowns, two French Cups, and the UEFA Super Cup.

​Internationally, the dynamic forward featured prominently for Les Bleus at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, appearing in all eight of their matches and scoring three goals as France reached the tournament’s third-place play-off.

​At Anfield, Barcola arrives to inject explosive pace and tactical versatility into an evolving forward line. Primarily deployed on the left flank, he provides vital depth following Mohamed Salah’s departure, a long-term injury setback for Hugo Ekitike, and ongoing speculation surrounding Cody Gakpo’s future.
