Ekiti politician and philanthropist, Opeyemi Falegan, has publicly apologised to Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday, years after their highly publicised relationship ended in a bitter fallout.
The apology was tendered during a TikTok Live session on Saturday, November 7, 2026, where the former couple revisited their controversial 2022 separation and lingering social media disagreements, ValidViewNetwork reports.
THE RECONCILIATION
During the conversation, Nkechi made it clear that she wanted an apology before both parties could genuinely put their differences behind them.
The actress explained that some of Falegan’s past comments about her continued to resurface online, with social media users allegedly using them to ridicule and insult her years after their relationship ended.
She said she had previously reminded Falegan that statements he made about her years ago were still being brought up by people online.
“There’s no letting go without an apology,” she insisted .
She also recalled defending Falegan against online criticism despite their differences, saying she had intervened in comment sections of videos in which he was being accused of wrongdoing, telling people that the person they were accusing was not the individual who allegedly scammed them .
THE APOLOGY
Responding, Falegan acknowledged that people change with time, saying the person he was during their relationship was different from who he had become.
“A gentleman wouldn’t extend the words of the lady. And another thing you need to understand is this: who I was yesterday is not who I am today,” Falegan said .
He subsequently offered an emotional apology. “From the bottom of my heart to the depth of my soul, do not be angry, Nkechi. That is gone. See that you have grown and more mature,” he said.
WHY IT MATTERS
The Nkechi Blessing-Falegan saga was one of the most public celebrity breakups in recent Nigerian history. It played out on social media, with accusations, counter-accusations and insults exchanged for months.
Now, years later, the two have reconciled. It is a reminder that even the most bitter public feuds can end with an apology and a conversation.
