A New Chapter for the Federal Bureaucracy

President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

ValidViewNetwork gathered that the swearing-in ceremony took place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the State House, Abuja. It marked the beginning of Enitan’s tenure as the nation’s Chief Administrative Officer.

Enitan succeeds Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who retired after attaining the statutory age of 60. His appointment was announced by the Presidency on August 19, 2026, with effect from August 27.

A Career of Distinction

Before his elevation, Enitan was the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

He brings over seven years of experience as a Permanent Secretary across various government institutions, including the Ministry of Police Affairs and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

ValidViewNetwork further learnt that the swearing-in ceremony was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Temitope Fashedemi, alongside other senior government officials..

President Tinubu has reportedly set a tough reform agenda for the new Head of Service, with expectations of greater efficiency and accountability in the federal bureaucracy.
