ValidViewNetwork has confirmed that joint security forces comprising the Nigeria Police Force, DSS, 302 Artillery Regiment, and Nigerian Navy have killed six suspected IPOB/ESN members in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.
ValidViewNetwork gathered that the operation, conducted on Saturday, August 22, 2026, involved operatives trekking for about four hours through difficult terrain and dense palm forest before arriving at an identified camp.
One Security Operative Dead, Another Injured — ValidViewNetwork has learned that the raid recorded the loss of one security operative and injury to another when an explosive device detonated during the operation. The injured operative is currently receiving medical attention in a hospital, ValidViewNetwork understands.
Weapons Recovered — According to ValidViewNetwork sources, operatives recovered two pump-action guns, two motorcycles, IED-making materials and other items from the camps.
The Army described the seizure of the explosive-making materials as a “significant operational gain” that would degrade the group’s capacity to fabricate explosive devices.
