Abuja – Nigeria has taken another step toward building a sovereign cloud infrastructure after NITDA and the Budget Office inaugurated a joint technical committee to drive the national initiative.
The committee will work on fiscal structures, procurement, financing and investment arrangements needed to implement Nigeria’s National Sovereign Cloud Initiative.
ValidViewNetwork reports that the committee was inaugurated on Thursday. The initiative could have major implications for government data, cybersecurity and the country’s digital economy.
But sovereignty will mean little if Nigeria builds infrastructure without developing the technical workforce and security architecture needed to protect it.
