Lagos State Police Find Coastal Highway Vandal Tunnel

Lagos – ValidViewNetwork reports that the Lagos police command have uncovered a tunnel allegedly used by vandals targeting the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, amid an investigation into the theft of infrastructure along the project corridor.

Police said suspects were arrested after investigators uncovered extensive vandalism. Reports indicate that 1,800 manhole covers, one kilometre of fencing and dozens of road signs were allegedly stolen.

This is not merely a theft story. The destruction of public infrastructure creates a second bill for taxpayers and can turn transport projects into safety hazards before they are completed.
