​Senator Alli Supports Rescued Principal with Toyota Camry Donation

​IBADAN – In a gesture aimed at supporting the rehabilitation and mobility of those affected by the recent Oriire kidnapping crisis, the senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Sharafadeen Alli, has donated a Toyota Camry to the principal of Community High School, Esiele, Mrs. Rachael Alamu.

​The donation follows the emotional reunion of the 44 rescued pupils and teachers with their families and state officials earlier this week. Mrs. Alamu, who was abducted alongside her students and colleagues on May 15, 2026, and held for 56 days, recently provided a harrowing account of the ordeal, including the tragic loss of two teachers during the captivity.

​A Gesture of Support Amidst Recovery

​Senator Alli, who serves as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Oyo State, visited the victims at the Nigeria Army medical facility in the Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ibadan, on Monday to offer his condolences and support. During the visit, he expressed his deep empathy for the survivors, noting that the trauma they endured was an painful reflection of the security challenges currently facing the nation.

​“I will do everything within my capacity to ensure that these victims receive the necessary support and succour to aid their recovery and reintegration into normal life,” Senator Alli stated. He emphasised that the gift was intended to assist the principal in her personal recovery and facilitate her mobility as she returns to the responsibilities of educational administration.

​Addressing the Security Crisis

​The lawmaker’s outreach is part of his broader response to the security incident that has gripped Oyo State. Senator Alli has been a vocal proponent for more decisive security measures, consistently urging federal and state agencies to intensify intelligence-led operations to protect schools and local communities.

​During his visit to the medical facility, Alli also took a moment to honour the security personnel who participated in the rescue operation. He paid tribute to the fallen officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, asserting that the nation remains in their debt for the successful liberation of the 44 captives.
