Kano Pillars Football Club has appointed Daniel Ogunmodede, popularly known as Ijaball, as the club’s new Technical Adviser ahead of the 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The announcement was made on Friday in Kano through a statement issued by the club’s Media Director, Isma’eel Tangalashi, who said Ogunmodede has been entrusted with leading the club’s technical direction as preparations intensify for the new campaign.
According to the statement, the appointment forms part of a broader restructuring strategy aimed at strengthening the technical bench and improving overall team performance in both domestic and continental competitions.
ValidViewNetwork reports that the club described Ogunmodede’s arrival as a significant step toward restoring Kano Pillars’ competitive edge and returning the former NPFL champions to top contention.
ValidViewNetwork reports that Ogunmodede, a former coach of Remo Stars, replaces Muhammad Babaganaru, who previously led the team.
Kano Pillars finished 15th last season, securing 48 points from 38 matches, a performance that prompted calls for stronger leadership and tactical renewal within the club.
With Ogunmodede now at the helm, the Sai Masu Gida faithful will be watching closely to see whether his tactical philosophy and experience can spark a resurgence as the new NPFL season approaches.
