The leadership and members of the Omoluabi Progressives, a key faction within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), convened an energetic and unified meeting on October 3, 2025, in Ilesa, Osun State, to discuss strategic plans ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship primaries. The gathering reinforced the movement’s ideals of progressive politics, loyalty, integrity, and people-centered governance under the guidance of ADC National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola.

At the meeting, consensus was reached to present a single, formidable aspirant from the Osun West Senatorial District for the December 12, 2025, ADC governorship primaries. This decision, championed by Aregbesola and the Omoluabi Progressives, aims to rally the party with a united front and strong political presence in the upcoming election. Members were encouraged to actively participate in the ongoing State Membership Mobilisation, Revalidation, and Registration exercise led by Hon. Kamil Akinlade’s committee from ADC National Headquarters, which is vital in preparing for the shadow election scheduled for December.

Aregbesola reflected on the significant progress made since the movement’s inception in August 2023, emphasizing the steadfastness and solidarity of members. He also underscored the importance of grassroots mobilization, spirit of unity, and readiness to restore good governance and responsible leadership to Osun State, positioning ADC as the party to beat in the 2026 elections.
