Yayi Awards Scholarships, Bursaries to 5,312 Ogun Students

​ABEOKUTA — In a renewed commitment to human capital development and educational advancement, Senator Solomon Adeola has successfully facilitated scholarships and bursaries for 5,312 students across various universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in Ogun State.

​The intervention, aimed at alleviating financial burdens on indigent families and reducing student attrition rates, highlights a major milestone in grassroots youth empowerment across the state.

​Financial Package and Breakdown

​Under the 2025/2026 academic year disbursement framework, beneficiaries received substantial financial support tailored to their respective tertiary levels:

• ​University Undergraduates: Received N200,000 each as direct scholarship grants.
• ​Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Students: Received N150,000 each.
• ​Bursary Recipients: Awarded N100,000 each.

​A heartwarming highlight of the event was the special recognition extended to a gifted sub-10-year-old artist. The young prodigy captured the senator’s admiration—and a dedicated scholarship—after presenting a masterclass oil-on-canvas portrait of the lawmaker.

​Political and Traditional Heavyweights Grace Event

​The grand presentation ceremony in Abeokuta drew an array of political icons, party leaders, and traditional stakeholders, emphasizing broad-based backing for the initiative.

​Among the prominent dignitaries in attendance were the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele; APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun; and the senator’s wife, Mrs. Temitope Adeola.

​Other notable figures included former Deputy Governor Alhaja Salmot Badru; Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi; former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola; Federal Character Commission Commissioner, Hon.
