The Director of Women Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Betta Edu, has declared that President Bola Tinubu will win re-election in 2027, as the party’s women mobilisation structure targets 40 million votes.

Edu made the declaration at the 2026 Pre-Inaugural Women’s Summit and Empowerment Programme in Abuja.

The event was convened by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu under the theme, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity, One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.”

40 MILLION-VOTE TARGET

Edu said APC women had begun mobilisation across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. She said the structure would extend to the 774 local government areas, wards, communities and polling units.

According to her, the mobilisation is intended to go beyond rallies by creating grassroots structures through which women leaders can engage communities and communicate the administration’s programmes.

She listed enterprise, agriculture, skills development, governance and community development among the areas the mobilisation would emphasise.

FIRST LADY’S ROLE

Edu praised Oluremi Tinubu for convening the summit and supporting programmes designed to mobilise and empower women. The event also featured the distribution of support items to beneficiaries, including motorbikes and farm trucks.

The First Lady also held a closed-door meeting with female APC candidates and other stakeholders.

Edu’s declaration that Tinubu will win in 2027 is a campaign position, not an established electoral outcome.

ValidViewNetwork reports that the APC’s 40-million-vote target provides an early indication of the scale of the ruling party’s grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 election.
