Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has launched a scathing critique of politicians who rose to prominence through the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) only to defect to other platforms and question the party’s relevance.
Speaking at the Ekwusigo Local Government Area headquarters in Ozubulu during a project commissioning event, Soludo described APGA as the foundational “visa” that launched numerous Igbo political careers into stardom. He dismissed critics who cross-carpeted to “mushroom political parties” as suffering from a loss of focus and wishful thinking regarding APGA’s enduring regional influence.
The governor maintained that the party’s strategic objective for the 2027 general elections is to forge a collaborative path with the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the federal level while aggressively retaining all legislative seats in Anambra State. According to Soludo, Ndigbo must pursue strategic, inclusive engagement with the Federal Government rather than confining their political weight to a single, isolated direction that often breeds complaints of marginalization.

However, the governor’s stance continues to face friction on the ground, with South-East APC leadership maintaining that their party will independently field and campaign for candidates across all levels in 2027.
