Resetting the Nigerian Narrative: ValidViewNetwork Hosts Global Discourse on National ‘Demarketing’

​Nigeria stands at a pivotal psychological crossroads, where a pervasive culture of reflexive pessimism is increasingly shaping the nation’s image, both internally and globally.

To confront this challenge, ValidViewNetwork Media has announced the second edition of its Global Monthly Discourse. According to the statement released by the Founder & CEO of ValidViewNetwork, Kayode Ogunjobi PhD, FHEA, FFAN, the Monthly Global Discourse is aimed at interrogating issues constructively.

His words : The Monthly Global Discourse is ValidViewNetwork’s signature global conversation platform conceived to bridge the gap between knowledge and action by creating a forum where global perspectives meet local realities. Through robust discussions and evidence-based engagements, the initiative seeks to promote informed decision making, public awareness, policy innovation, and sustainable development”

Ogunjobi further stated that the second edition is dedicated to shifting the national narrative from one of self-inflicted reputational damage to constructive, solution-driven engagement.

According to him, ​the theme of the upcoming session is “National Demarketing and the Nigerian Psyche: Resetting Nigeria’s Public Mindset,” scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (WAT). The event will be hosted via Zoom and streamed live on YouTube.

On some of the forces that appear to be driving the crisis, he stated : “A deepening culture of cynicism where negativity is equated with intelligence, social media amplification that rewards outrage over balanced analysis and diaspora disillusionment that often spills into harsh, uncontextualised criticism of the nation appear to be serious factors driving the crisis.

​ “This second edition of the Global Monthly Discourse seeks to confront this issue boldly and constructively, Ogunjobi affirmed.

​The maiden edition of the Monthly Global Discourse held on 28th June 2026, featured Prof. Labode Popoola FFAN, Executive Secretary, Africa Forest Forum who led a rich conversation on “Nigeria’s Forests Under Siege: Charting a Path to Safety, Stability, and Sustainable Development” while the session was formally declared opened by Mr. Olanrewaju S. Ogundipe, former NUJ President, former AUJ President and Chairman of the Advisory Board of ValidViewNetwork Media.
