Poco Lee’s management has moved to defend Zlatan amid social media criticism over the rapper’s support for the dancer during his ongoing legal case in the United Kingdom.

In a statement published on September 16, the management acknowledged Zlatan’s support, saying his involvement and efforts, alongside those of others, had been important behind the scenes.

The intervention came after online criticism directed at Zlatan following a conversation involving Poco Lee that was shared publicly.

What triggered the backlash?

The controversy centred on perceptions that Zlatan had not been adequately acknowledged for his support.

Social media quickly turned the issue into another celebrity loyalty debate, with some users questioning why particular names were mentioned while Zlatan appeared absent from the public account.

Poco Lee’s management has now asked people to avoid negative narratives and acknowledged that support does not always happen publicly.

That distinction matters. The management statement establishes what Poco Lee’s team says about Zlatan’s involvement. It does not independently establish every specific form of assistance that may have been provided.

The legal case is still alive

The social media argument should also not distract from the underlying legal matter.

Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, is facing five sexual-offence charges in the UK, including two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and two counts of assault by penetration.

He has denied the allegations. His scheduled September 15 plea and trial preparation hearing could not proceed because the charge sheet was unavailable.

A new plea hearing has been fixed for February 8, 2027, while the trial is scheduled for March 8, 2027.

The proceedings remain ongoing.

Why restraint matters

Celebrity controversies often move faster online than court processes. A public disagreement over who supported whom can quickly become a judgement on the underlying legal case, even though social media posts cannot determine guilt or innocence.

The proper distinction is therefore important. Zlatan’s alleged support is one issue. The criminal allegations against Poco Lee are another.

The court process will determine the legal questions. Poco Lee’s management has now made its position clear: Zlatan should not be judged by what was or was not said publicly about his support.

As the case moves into 2027, the most important development will remain what happens in court, not what trends online, ValidViewNetwork reports.
