IBADAN — The pupils and teachers who were recently kidnapped in the Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have been successfully rescued and have regained their freedom.
The announcement was confirmed on Friday, July 10, 2026, by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. In a statement released via his verified X handle, Onanuga confirmed that the victims were rescued through the coordinated efforts of national security agencies.
“Finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies,” Onanuga stated.
