A man brutally killed a woman on their first date before dumping her dismembered body parts around a town.
Maxwell Anderson killed 19-year-old Sade Robinson last year. In June, he was convicted of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, arson and hiding a corpse.
The monster claimed innocence throughout the trial. During a sentencing hearing, Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Laura Crivello repeatedly questioned how Anderson could carry out such a hideous crime.
Prosecutors shared details of how Anderson chopped up Robinson’s remains and dumped one of her legs in a playground. Robinson’s mum, Sheena Scarborough, said Anderson “messed the entire community up” and deserved to have no protection in prison.
As reported in the Mirror, she added: “Judge, I’m asking this demon to be respectfully returned back to hell as soon as possible.”
Her father Carlos suggested in court that someone should dismember Anderson.
He said: “Everything that he did should be done to him. No man should be able to live after what he did. That’s just how I feel. I can’t get past this. I can’t.”
Anderson’s attorney, Tony Cotton, asked the judge to make him eligible for parole after 25 years.
He then argued that Anderson served in the US Navy and suffered from mental health issues.
Anderson told the judge he was innocent and intended to appeal his convictions. He did not elaborate.
Judge Crivello refused to offer Anderson a chance at parole and dismissed his claims of innocence, adding his view of reality “differs from the rest of the world.”
She branded his crimes “unconscionable” and likened the case to something out of a horror novel.
She said: “It’s beyond imaginable to not know whether your child is dead or alive, and then learn they’re dismembered and disgraced, is beyond understanding.”
Anderson was jailed for seven-and-a-half years on the dismemberment count and a year-and-a-half on the arson charge.
Online court records indicate she dismissed the fourth count of hiding a corpse on Friday after Cotton argued Anderson can’t be convicted of both mutilating and hiding a corpse, reports the Associated Press.
Anderson and Robinson met in a bar in March last year – a week before her death.
Footage and mobile phone texts and tacking showed they spent the late afternoon and early evening of April 1 drinking at two bars before they went back to Anderson’s apartment.
Prosecutors have argued she was incapacitated and couldn’t resist.

CCTV footage showed her car leaving his flat early on the morning of April 2 before it arrived at a park along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Prosecutors maintain that’s where he cut her body into pieces.
He went on to burn her car behind an abandoned building and took the bus home.
