
KolaDaisi University has unveiled Professor Olajumoke Morenikeji as its next Vice-Chancellor, with her tenure set to begin in August 2026.
The decision, reached after an extensive selection exercise, received the backing of the institution’s Board of Trustees and was formally endorsed at the Governing Council’s 33rd statutory meeting held on April 30, 2026.
In a statement released by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Haruna Olawale Adetu, the university confirmed that Morenikeji will officially assume office on August 3, 2026.
An accomplished academic, Morenikeji obtained her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Zoology from the University of Ibadan. She rose to the rank of Professor of Parasitology in 2016 and is widely recognised for her contributions to research on malaria, schistosomiasis, and other tropical diseases, with over 120 publications to her name.
She has also played pivotal administrative roles within the university, serving as Head of Department, Dean, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, where she contributed to strengthening governance and academic development.
Her emergence is viewed as a strategic move aimed at deepening the university’s focus on innovation, research advancement, and overall academic excellence.
