The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has debunked a viral result slip circulating online which claimed that a candidate from Cross River State scored 394 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The result, shared on X by a user identified as @Onsogbu, purportedly showed that a female candidate, Okon Winniefred Sampson, recorded near-perfect marks—96 in Use of English, 99 in Biology, 98 in Chemistry, and 99 in Physics.
Reacting, JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, said the result was fabricated and did not originate from the Board.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Benjamin explained that UTME results are currently restricted to a view-only format and are not designed for printing or circulation in the manner seen in the viral document.
He noted that the layout and presentation of the slip do not correspond with JAMB’s official result template. He further stated that the registration number displayed on the document does not conform to the Board’s standard system-generated format.
According to him, multiple inconsistencies on the slip clearly indicate that it is not authentic.
JAMB advised members of the public to disregard the claim and rely only on information released through its verified communication channels, reiterating that UTME results remain accessible strictly on a view-only basis for now.
