The event, marked by a blend of tradition, faith, and glamour, drew prominent dignitaries, cultural icons, and celebrities from across Nigeria to St. James’ Anglican Church and the grand reception that followed.

Mama Victoria, resplendent in white with a royal blue gele, was the embodiment of grace and humility. Her presence commanded respect as she was honored by a who’s who of Nigerian leadership and society. The front pews of the church held Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and other top federal officials. Governors from Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Kwara, Imo, and Akwa Ibom states were part of the high-profile gathering, emphasizing the occasion’s national importance.

Among the venerable attendees were former President Olusegun Obasanjo and ex-governors who have shaped Nigeria’s political landscape. Corporate leaders such as Chief (Dr.) Toyin Okeowo and Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede also graced the celebration, underlining the respect commanded by the Abiodun family.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, led a royal procession alongside other traditional rulers, highlighting the fusion of heritage and modern leadership. The Bishop of Remo Anglican Diocese, Most Reverend Olusina Fape, delivered an evocative sermon, likening Mama Victoria to the biblical Mary for her role in nurturing a leader whose governance has brought progress to Ogun State

Governor Dapo Abiodun expressed profound gratitude to his mother, attributing his strength and success to her unwavering faith and sacrifices. The evening reception, set in an elegant marquee adorned in gold and ivory hues, featured stirring performances by juju legend King Sunny Ade, BJ Sax, and The Vintage Band, evoking nostalgia and communal joy.
Born October 15, 1935, Mama Victoria’s life journey as a dedicated teacher, mentor, and devout Christian was celebrated as a beacon of perseverance and humility. Her contributions to education and faith have left enduring marks on the community and her family, earning her a legacy celebrated not only in Iperu but across Nigeria.
