LONDON — The former inmate at the center of the viral HMP Wandsworth prison sex tape scandal has broken his silence, branding the incident the “biggest regret” of his life while pulling back the curtain on a penal system he claims is rife with corruption, understaffing, and a total collapse of discipline.

Speaking publicly about the fallout for the first time, Weirich revealed that the viral fame masked a grim reality that nearly cost him his life. Following the leak, he was transferred to HMP Swaleside for his own safety, where he was subsequently subjected to a brutal, targeted prison assault—an attack he describes as part of the violent “ripple effect” of the scandal.
