EFCC Trains CCB Officers to Boost Anti-Corruption War

​ABUJA — In a historic inter-agency collaboration, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially commenced a rigorous four-week Basic Investigation and Enforcement training program for 102 newly recruited officers of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

​The intensive capacity-building initiative, hosted at the EFCC Academy in Karu, Abuja, marks the first time the anti-graft agency has undertaken the comprehensive training of newly minted CCB personnel. Designed to bridge operational gaps, the curriculum focuses on strengthening investigative capacity, enforcing strict professional discipline, and instilling high standards of ethical conduct in public service enforcement.

​Speaking at the opening ceremony, EFCC Executive Chairman Ola Olukoyede described the partnership as a vital milestone in Nigeria’s anti-corruption architecture. Represented by the Acting Commandant of the EFCC Academy, Assistant Commander of EFCC (ACE1) Joseph Ogwiji, Olukoyede noted that the collaboration extends far beyond a standard training arrangement.

​”This represents a new chapter in institutional collaboration and capacity development,” Olukoyede stated, underscoring the necessity of synergy among federal anti-corruption institutions to achieve lasting systemic reforms.

​Echoing this sentiment, the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, stressed that the alliance between the two bodies is indispensable to the federal government’s broader agenda of promoting absolute integrity and transparency within the public sector.

​Addressing the 102 trainees, Dr. Bello urged them to approach the four-week program with utmost seriousness, noting that the curriculum is strategically crafted to prepare them for the heavy constitutional mandate of the Bureau. That mandate includes enforcing transparency, preventing conflicts of interest, and restoring public trust in government institutions.

​The newly recruited officers were further charged to strictly uphold the core values of integrity, professional discipline, confidentiality, and unwavering adherence to the rule of law as they prepare to assume active enforcement responsibilities across the nation.
