ValidViewNetwork reports that Momodu published the message on his Facebook page on Saturday, August 8, describing Adeleke as his “Twin Brother” and saying he was moved to write the warning “for posterity sake.”

Momodu Raises Alarm Over August 15 Poll

With only one week remaining before Osun State voters head to the polls, Momodu questioned whether the Independent National Electoral Commission would conduct what he described as a free, fair and credible election.

He specifically alleged that the electoral commission could face political pressure because of its relationship with the Federal Government.

Momodu claimed that President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress were determined to use the Osun election as a test for the 2027 presidential contest.

However, those claims remain Momodu’s political assessment and have not been independently established.

ValidViewNetwork reports that INEC is constitutionally responsible for conducting elections in Nigeria, while political parties and candidates are expected to compete under the rules governing the electoral process.

‘Expect Any Eventuality,’ Momodu Tells Adeleke

Momodu further claimed that he had received warnings from friends within the APC about developments surrounding the election. He alleged that the ruling party was seeking to secure Osun State by whatever means necessary.

“Please, hold on tightly to GOD as you’ve always been,” Momodu told Adeleke.

He also warned the governor to prepare for what he described as “any eventuality” surrounding the election. The statement did not identify the individuals who allegedly issued the warnings or provide independent evidence supporting the claims.

A Direct Appeal to Adeleke

Despite the warning, Momodu’s message was not entirely political. He praised Adeleke’s performance as governor and encouraged him to remain confident in his record.

Momodu told the governor that his administration had undertaken work that could speak for itself during the election campaign.

“We are proud of the uncommon work you’ve done, and doing,” he wrote.

He then contrasted Adeleke’s record with that of his political opponents, saying: “Let them campaign with the work they did in the past… Little or nothing to show.”

Momodu ended the message with a personal expression of support.“You are loved,” he wrote.

Osun Election Enters Final Stretch

The intervention comes as political activity intensifies ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election. The contest has attracted considerable national attention, with the outcome expected to have implications beyond the state.

Adeleke, who is seeking another term, is campaigning for re-election amid a strong challenge from opposition parties.

The election has also become a major political talking point because of the wider preparations for Nigeria’s 2027 general elections. Momodu’s warning therefore places the Osun contest within a broader national political context.

Claims Require Evidence, Not Assumptions

While Momodu’s concerns have generated political discussion, allegations of electoral manipulation require evidence and should not automatically be treated as established facts.

The credibility of the August 15 election will ultimately depend on the conduct of INEC, security agencies, political parties, candidates and voters. It will also depend on whether disputes arising from the process are addressed through the appropriate legal and electoral mechanisms.

ValidViewNetwork reports that Momodu’s intervention is therefore best understood as a political warning and personal appeal to Adeleke, rather than independent confirmation that electoral interference will occur.

With the election only days away, attention now shifts to the conduct of the campaign, the deployment of electoral officials, security arrangements and the eventual verdict of Osun voters.

For Adeleke, Momodu’s message carries both a political warning and a personal challenge: trust the record, remain vigilant and allow the people to decide.
