Ashmusy Exits Yucateco Boxing Bout, Denies Hijacking Deal From Phyna

​Popular content creator Amarachi Amusi, widely known as Ashmusy, has officially withdrawn from the upcoming Yucateco Celebrity Boxing Bout, firing back at fellow reality star Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, over allegations that she attempted to sabotage her place in the event.

​The controversy erupted after Phyna took to social media with an explosive video accusing Ashmusy of betrayal. According to Phyna, she had spent months working closely with the boxing organizers and personally recommended Ashmusy for the fight on August 19 after facing scheduling conflicts of her own. The Big Brother Naija winner claimed that instead of showing gratitude, Ashmusy turned around behind her back to request her removal from the card, attempting to hijack the multi-million naira deal.

​In a swift counter-statement released via her official social media channels, Ashmusy firmly refuted the claims, describing them as misleading and malicious. She clarified that while Phyna did introduce the opportunity to her, her initial delay in accepting was due to genuine hesitation and a busy travel schedule.

​According to Ashmusy, she never lobbied for Phyna to be sacked from the event. Instead, she explained that she simply informed the promoters of her personal discomfort with stepping into the ring against someone she considers a friend. Following this feedback, the organizers allegedly gave the green light for both personalities to feature in separate bouts.

​Expressing deep disappointment over the escalation, Ashmusy noted that private communications had been weaponized and that trust had been severely misplaced. She also addressed the threats directed at her during Phyna’s live broadcast, warning that any further harassment or security threats would be formally escalated to law enforcement authorities.

​To permanently extinguish the escalating drama, Ashmusy announced her total and unreserved exit from the boxing event. She maintained that her mental peace and brand integrity supersede any fight card, choosing to step away from the spectacle entirely.
