Ruto, Macron Lead Continental Shift at Landmark ‘Africa Forward’ Summit

NAIROBI, Kenya — In a bold departure from traditional diplomatic ties, President William Ruto and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, yesterday opened the inaugural Africa Forward Summit at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). The two-day event has drawn over 30 heads of state and 4,000 delegates to the Kenyan capital, signaling a definitive move away from “aid and charity” toward a partnership of “sovereign equity.”

​With nearly 70% of Africa’s population under the age of 35, the summit placed a heavy emphasis on youth empowerment. France’s Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanin, unveiled the “Talent Afrique–France Fast-Track” pilot program, which will grant 48-hour priority visa appointments to African tech entrepreneurs and STEM graduates.
