ADP Hails Adeleke’s Victory, Frames Osun Polls as 2027 Springboard

Following the formal declaration of Governor Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the fiercely contested Osun State governorship election, the Action Democratic Party (ADP) has stepped forward to congratulate the incumbent administration. In an official statement issued on Sunday by National Chairman Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani, the party characterized the electoral outcome as a progressive development in the subnational democratic journey.

While acknowledging the validation of the electorate’s mandate, the ADP leadership extended an olive branch to the political community, advising any stakeholders or candidates harboring legitimate grievances to channel their pursuits through constitutionally recognized and established legal frameworks.

Celebrating a Grassroots Milestone

Beyond the primary contest for executive power, the ADP drew considerable optimism from its own electoral scorecard. Securing a notable fourth-place finish, the party’s standard-bearer, Adeagbo O. Yemisi, was heavily praised for running a courageous, disciplined, and issue-based campaign.

Party analysts noted that Adeagbo’s performance carried profound national significance, proving unequivocally that Nigerian women possess the resilience, strategic capability, and public appeal to compete effectively for the highest elective offices against heavily resourced opponents.

The ADP maintained that its positioning on the result table represented far more than mere numerical value. Instead, it served as tangible evidence that the party’s “silent but effective campaign strategy” is striking a responsive chord among citizens looking for a credible, people-centered alternative to the established political order.

Laying the Groundwork for 2027

With the dust settling across the Osun metropolis, the ADP has turned its immediate attention toward the future. The party confirmed plans to review operational data, identify critical lessons from the field, and systematically reinforce its internal structures across all local government areas.

Describing the exercise as a crucial testing ground, the national leadership emphasized that the footprints established in Osun State will serve as a reliable springboard for expanded political participation and wider mobilization as the country marches toward the 2027 general elections.
