Anambra Police Nab Suspect Over Nursing Student’s Murder, Exonerate Landlord

​Months of intense public anxiety and grief over the brutal murder of a 23-year-old nursing student, Miss Vivian Chilaka, have finally yielded a major breakthrough as the Anambra State Police Command arrested the prime suspect, 26-year-old Kosisochukwu Edward Ibekwe.

​The tragic incident, which occurred in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area, on June 14, 2026, sent shockwaves through the community after the young student was found dead in her apartment. The case initially sparked widespread outrage and raised serious security concerns across the state.

Investigators established that Ibekwe allegedly scaled the perimeter fence of the victim’s residence using a ladder under the cover of darkness, harboring the intent to sexually assault her. During the altercation, the suspect reportedly pulled out a knife and inflicted fatal stab wounds on the student before fleeing the scene.
