Following the conclusion of the gubernatorial race in Osun State, the state government has issued a stern warning against any form of public disruption or retaliatory attacks.
In an official statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the administration emphasized that the state must now transition into a phase of healing and reconciliation. The government expressed deep concern over reported plans by certain stakeholders to stir up fresh crises across local government councils and motor parks.
Emphasizing that the election has been won and lost, the authorities reminded political actors that any push toward violence is a direct affront to public peace and constitutional order. Security agencies have been charged to enforce the rule of law stringently, ensure the release of political detainees, and check partisan policing—particularly regarding local government and transport management affairs.
The state urged all citizens and political groups to reject violence, prioritize dialogue, and allow peaceful coexistence to take root across the region.
