​BOGOTÁ — Deyci Alejandra Omaña Ortiz, widely known by her former stage name Amaranta Hank, has officially taken the oath of office as a member of the Colombian Senate. Representing the left-wing Historic Pact coalition for the 2026–2030 parliamentary term, her swearing-in marks a historic milestone and a remarkable career pivot from the adult entertainment industry into national politics.

​Ortiz, 33, secured her legislative seat following a successful campaign in March, running on a platform centered on labor rights, safety regulations, and legal protections for adult-content creators. Representing the Norte de Santander region, she secured her place through the Historic Pact’s closed list, a coalition that emerged as the dominant political force in Congress after capturing over 4.4 million votes and 25 Senate seats.

​A former journalist who entered the adult film industry in 2017 before stepping away two years later, Ortiz has strongly pushed back against critics questioning her fitness for public office. Addressing her detractors on social media, she emphasized that her background grants her a unique perspective on societal inequality and exploitation.
