Oyetola Taps Akinola for Media Role in Marine Ministry

Abuja,Nigeria – Hon. Adegboyega Oyetola CON, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, has appointed Dr. Bolaji Akinola, a seasoned maritime and corporate communications expert, as his Adviser on Media and Communications.

Akinola, boasting over 25 years of industry experience, will spearhead the ministry’s media relations and communication strategies, ensuring clear dissemination of information regarding its policies and initiatives.

As CEO of Ships & Ports Communication Company, Akinola is a recognized authority on port reforms, maritime security, and the Blue Economy. His extensive academic background includes a Doctorate in Media and Communications from Pan-Atlantic University, alongside two Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Transport Management.

Akinola’s professional affiliations include memberships in the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the Chartered Institute of Arbitration (UK), and the Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria (MAAN). He previously served as Executive Secretary of NIMAREX and is a Fellow of both the Nigerian Institute of Shipping (FNIS) and the Chartered Institute of Shipping of Nigeria (FCISN).

In his new role, Akinola will focus on enhancing the Ministry’s engagement with stakeholders, the media, and the public, effectively communicating the vision and achievements within the Marine and Blue Economy sector.
