Wike Unveils 2027 Strategy to Neutralize Atiku, Obi

ABUJA — Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has revealed that a robust political framework has been finalized to block the presidential ambitions of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and opposition figure Peter Obi in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Addressing journalists following an extensive inspection tour of major infrastructure projects across the nation’s capital, Wike defended the tactical maneuvers deployed by the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) G5 bloc during the 2023 polls. He maintained that their primary objective was neutralizing Atiku’s stronghold in the South-South by shifting regional ballots.

• 2023 Post-Mortem: Wike asserted that Atiku posed the ultimate threat to their political alignment, prompting the calculated decision to dilute his regional votes rather than target Obi, whose electoral influence he categorized as largely inflated by social media.

• Rigging Allegations Dismissed: Rejecting claims of electoral manipulation in Rivers State, the minister challenged critics to present concrete tribunal evidence proving any alternative outcome.

• Infrastructure Milestones: Shifting focus to urban development, Wike announced that critical infrastructure—including the Kaura District road networks and Life Camp collector routes—will be commissioned by December 15, with the Gwarinpa Arterial Road N16 slated for completion by early January.

• IBB Golf Course Reopening: Following a presidential directive, the historic facility is undergoing comprehensive rehabilitation ahead of a scheduled November tournament.

Highlighting a 60 percent performance rate in the 2026 capital budget implementation, Wike dismissed attacks from political detractors, urging candidates seeking re-election to campaign based on verifiable legislative scorecards rather than hollow political rhetoric.
