The sudden and tragic death of Victor Aggrey, a young father of two from the Magbon area of Olorunda LCDA, Badagry, has left the community in shock and confusion. Victor, who had been separated from his wife Jennifer for several months, had reportedly been struggling emotionally and financially since the separation. The couple’s fractured relationship and Victor’s desperate attempts to reconcile set the scene for a heartbreaking series of events.
On a fateful Friday night, tragedy struck at Jennifer’s residence in Seje, Ajara, where she had moved following the separation. Conflicting accounts have emerged concerning the circumstances of Victor’s death. One version narrates a heated altercation during which Victor allegedly stabbed Jennifer, mistakenly thinking he had killed her, before ingesting a deadly pesticide called Sniper in despair. Another account claims Jennifer survived the attack, fled for medical treatment, and returned to find Victor dead with a bottle of pesticide nearby. Jennifer herself reportedly stated that she awoke to Victor attacking her, managed to escape, and when she returned, Victor was already lifeless.
However, these narratives have been met with distrust by community members, particularly social critic and Badagry prince, Jide Akran. Speaking out on social media, Akran described Victor as a devoted family man and a younger brother to a former palace secretary. He asserted that the injuries on Victor’s body do not align with suicide and suggested foul play might be involved. “This doesn’t look like suicide; it screams murder in my honest opinion,” Akran said, calling for justice and a thorough police investigation.
The Badagry community now demands transparency and accountability, seeking answers for the bereaved family and especially Victor’s children, whose futures hang in uncertainty. With many inconsistencies and unanswered questions lingering, the full truth behind Victor Aggrey’s death remains a haunting mystery in the heart of Badagry as the police investigation continues
