The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has called on political actors and citizens across the country to place national cohesion above electoral competition. Delivering his message for Eid-ul-Mawlid, Yilwatda cautioned that political rivalries must never be permitted to fracture the fundamental bonds of brotherhood linking Nigerians.
Emphasizing that political differences are inherently temporary, the APC chairman urged the public to draw practical lessons from the compassion, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence modeled by Prophet Muhammad. He noted that these timeless virtues provide a vital pathway for national healing and shared hope amidst current socio-political challenges.
Furthermore, Yilwatda strongly discouraged attempts to weaponize ethnic, religious, or political identities for partisan gains. He challenged citizens to treat national diversity as a collective asset rather than a fault line, stressing the importance of steering clear of intolerance and political hostility as the nation looks toward the 2027 general elections.
The leadership message concluded with an appeal to the Muslim Ummah and all citizens to use the festive period to pray for enduring peace, security, and economic prosperity, while granting leaders the wisdom to steer the country forward.
