UNIOSUN Scholar Wins DAAD Fellowship for Germany Research

​OSOGBO — In a major win for international academic collaboration, Dr. Samson Olanrewaju of Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has been awarded the prestigious German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Fellowship.

​Dr. Olanrewaju, a lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and the Deputy Director of the institution’s Global Affairs and Sustainable Development Institute (GASDI), secured the highly competitive placement under the DAAD Global Research Programme. The initiative bridges researchers from the Global North and South to formulate innovative policy frameworks and drive cutting-edge solutions for global environmental challenges.

​Scheduled to run from September to December 2026 at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, the fellowship will see Dr. Olanrewaju working alongside Professor Astrid Ley, a globally renowned authority in sustainability and urban development. His research will focus on tackling contemporary ecological and urban management hurdles.
