UK Imposes Security Measures for Tinubu’s State Visit

British authorities are ramping up security in Windsor for President Bola Tinubu’s upcoming state visit to the United Kingdom. Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will arrive on March 18, 2026, for a reception at Windsor Castle hosted by King Charles III.​​

Thames Valley Police announced extensive measures, including extended airspace restrictions over Windsor Castle from 7:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on March 18. Chief Superintendent Adrian Hall emphasized that breaching these rules violates the Air Navigation Order and could lead to arrests.​

Road closures and parking bans will begin March 17, potentially disrupting local traffic. Additional deployments include armed officers, search teams, mounted units, hostile vehicle mitigation barriers, and an expanded CCTV network.
