Two Nigerians Arrested for Murder in Tamale Ghana

​TAMALE – The Northern Regional Police Command has taken two Nigerian nationals into custody following the brutal murder of their compatriot, Nkemujika Uzochukwu Eze, in the Sanzirigu suburb of Tamale. The incident, which has sent shockwaves through the local community, is reportedly linked to a fallout over proceeds from alleged internet fraud.

​The suspects, identified as Daniel Victor Eze and David Oko Ewa, were apprehended by police in an intelligence-led operation near the Ghana-Togo border. According to official police statements released on Sunday, July 12, 2026, both men have confessed to conspiring to commit the crime following a dispute over illicit earnings.

​The investigation commenced after the 36-year-old victim was discovered deceased in his bedroom on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Responding officers reported a gruesome scene: the victim had sustained a deep laceration to his forehead, and a towel had been forcibly stuffed into his mouth. The state of the bedroom, which appeared to have been thoroughly ransacked, suggested a violent struggle.

​Forensic teams at the scene recovered a wooden pestle, which investigators believe served as the primary weapon in the attack. The body has since been transported to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where a medical officer confirmed the death. It remains in the hospital mortuary awaiting a formal autopsy.
